iPad Testimonial by Audrey Nguyen

I recently went all Mac. No joke. iphone, ipad, then Macbook Pro, and I was so afraid of the transition because I was so used to using a PC and a blackberry and everything just being so darn complicated. It was the complete opposite. I learned how to use my Macbook in less than an hour, and the iPad was pretty much like a blown up version of my iPhone. I want to thank you for getting us all ipads and trying to do more with our curriculum.

I bought iAnnotate and the stylus, played with it for a little and didn’t touch it for about three weeks. During that time, I was taking notes on my computer, but it is really hard when there are a bunch of pathways and you can’t draw them on your mac! Today, I got a mini-tutorial from a friend and took notes on my iPad — wrote, drew, circled, highlighted, added textboxes everywhere, and it was so much easier. I am trying to be a little “greener” so I have been avoiding printing out the lecture slides, and now I pretty much never have to again.

I have already been using dropbox on my computer, so it was super easy on the iPad. You don’t need to sync your iPad to your computer everytime you want to transfer data. You just save you files in dropbox on your computer, and iAnnotate can pick up your file from Dropbox. What this means is, all you have to do is open the iAnnotate app and import your files which iAnnotate can take from your Dropbox. Very easy and very user friendly.

The one thing is that it is a little difficult to write on iAnnotate i.e. my handwriting looks like it did when I was in grade school, but we found a work around to that. If you zoom in and write and then zoom out afterwards, your text actually comes out pretty small. Typing was not a huge issue for me because it is pretty much like the iPhone but easier because its bigger.
