Med AppJam Launching November 9, 2012

We are excited to announce that the UCI Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences (ICS) and the UCI School of Medicine (SOM) along with the ICS Student Council are planning the first ever Med AppJam, an event to be held from November 9-19, 2012.

What is Med AppJam?
The AppJam is a week long tournament where teams create a fully functional mobile app. Apps are judged on various criteria and the top teams are awarded prizes and recognition. The theme of this Fall’s AppJam will be medical applications which can range from apps to help medical students/faculty in teaching and learning to clinical apps for use by patients or clinicians. Participants in the Med AppJam will be assigned to cross-disciplinary teams comprised of both ICS and medical students to promote the sharing of medical knowledge and technical programming skills and a unique learning experience for all involved.
