iMedEd Release Notes Version 1.8.16

Live at the Med Ed Building: AirPlay via AppleTV

We are excited to announce that AppleTV’s have been installed in all of the basement classrooms of the Medical Education Building on the Irvine campus. Faculty, staff and medical students can now wirelessly stream content from an iPhone, iPad and/or a MacBook to the LCD monitors mounted in each room via each AppleTV using AirPlay (Apple’s wireless streaming feature). With AirPlay, sharing a presentation from an iPad during a small-group session has become as easy as connecting to the AppleTV from the iPad and turning on “mirroring”. We hope that this classroom upgrade provides opportunities for improved interaction and collaboration during learning activities.

Note that when the monitor in the room is turned ON, you will find more details about connecting to the AppleTV’s on the background desktop image (see below). For further information on hardware and software requirements to support AirPlay, look for the “Connecting to AppleTV via AirPlay” manual located in each classroom.

If you have any questions about using AirPlay, contact us using the iMedEd Service Request Form: http://bit.ly/iMedEdRequest.
