Ilios and Canvas Upgrades

Faculty and students who use the Ilios curriculum management system and the Canvas learning management system will have noticed that both systems have been upgraded during the past week. The Ilios upgrade involved migrating from Version 2.x to Version 3.x, a major release of the system. This migration did not affect our existing data in Ilios, but presents a significant change to the user interface for the system.

Canvas was also upgraded to a new user interface with the most striking difference apparent on the Home page (a.k.a. Dashboard) after you log in. Courses are now represented with block icons (as they currently appear in the Canvas iPad app). Otherwise, the functionality remains largely the same. Also, note that on the top of the Dashboard page, there are new Med Ed buttons including one which will take you to the current UCISOM Student Handbook.

If you have questions about the Ilios and Canvas upgrades and/or require further training on them, let us know by using the iMedEd Service Request Form.
