May 2012 CCD Showcase: QUEST on the iPad

From May 7, 2012

QUEST EMR on the iPad via the Sunrise Mobile MD II app

Lori Bocchicchio from HAIS presented the features of the Allscripts Sunrise Mobile MD II app. Read-only access to QUEST via the iPad will be released to clinicians within a few weeks, but all clerkship directors can obtain this access now. A group of MS3’s in a pilot study conducted by iMedEd has been testing QUEST via the Mobile MD app for several weeks now and providing feedback to its developers. All rising MS3’s will receive training and access to QUEST via this app during a clinical iMedEd orientation on May 13, 2012. HAIS will work on releasing more EMR functionality using the Mobile MD app throughout the year.

JiffPad by Jiff, Inc. (previously $99 and now free)

The JiffPad iPad app is a patient education tool that comes with a catalog of medical images and diagrams that be annotated and narrated over. This allows students, faculty and clinicians to create recorded presentations of treatment plans, the explanation of diagnoses and conditions during patient encounters. These recordings can be uploaded to Jiff.com, a HIPAA-compliant server, allowing the development of a video repository of clinical teaching moments. iMedEd is working with clinical faculty to determine effective ways to incorporate this into our MS3’s experience on the wards and during OSCEs.
