iMedEd Release Notes Version 10.23.15

Viewing the Medical School Curriculum through the Ilios Reporting Tool

Ilios is the curriculum management tool that allows us to map the School of Medicine curriculum to identify what is being taught in our courses and find gaps/redundanices. Justin Chu, on our team, has developed a simple reporting tool to assist faculty, staff and students in viewing the content of our courses and their associated curricular sessions as well as the ability to search across course and sessions by topics, instructional methods, assessment methods, etc. This tool can be accessed at the following link:

Ilios Reporting Tool (you must use VPN to access if off-site)

Help documentation is available by clicking on the “Looking for help?” link at the bottom of the page.

The following reports may be of particular interest to course directors/coordinators and faculty:

  • Session Summary Report – provides a tabular view of all sessions in a course and essential information about these sessions including date, start time, end time, instructors, MeSH terms and learning objectives
  • Session Type Report (narrow and wide versions) – provides the number of hours in a course spent by instructional method, e.g., Lecture; Discussion, Small Group; Exam

We are working on developing more reports to be added in subsequent releases of this tool. Let us know if you have curricular reporting needs that we can help you address.
