Preparing for LCME Accreditation: Topics in Ilios
The Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) is the body that accredits medical schools in the U.S. and Canada. The next survey of the UC Irvine School of Medicine by the LCME is in 2016-2017 with our accreditation site visit in January 2017. One way in which we are preparing for LCME accreditation is by asking all faculty that teach in the medical school to help us tag their content with topics and MeSH terms in Ilios, our curriculum management system, so that we can create robust curricular maps to help us identify gaps, redundancies and manage oversight.
