iMedEd Release Notes Version 3.4.16

Create a Blog or Website Hosted by UCI

Sites@UCI is a service offered by the UCI Office of Information Technology that enables faculty, staff and graduate students to create a blog or simple website for free of charge. Websites are created using WordPress, one of the most popular blogging/content management systems, through a user-friendly, web-based interface that lets you easily combine text, images and videos into web pages formatted by professionally developed themes/templates. Faculty research, student initiatives and patient education resources are just a few examples of content that can easily be hosted by Sites@UCI. Further, websites are created with a custom name (and “uci.edu” in the URL) so that you can easily share your online content with colleagues both internal and external to UCI. We present our own iMedEd website at the URL: https://imeded.uci.edu as an example of Sites@UCI in action (see screenshot below).

During this time, all core courses and clerkships have used this system to share and manage course materials with students. This workshop will review some of the commonly used features of Canvas and give faculty/staff an opportunity to further explore the potential of this tool based on their experiences this past year.
