iMedEd Release Notes Version 3.21.16

Congratulations to the Class of 2016! #match2016 #firstLiveStream

Friday, March 18th was Match Day, which occurs each year on the third Friday of March. It is the day when the results of the National Resident Matching Program are announced and graduating medical students find out which residency program they will be heading to in July.

New for the School of Medicine this year was the live stream of the morning’s events to audiences far and wide (see a screenshot from the live stream below). Friends and family who were unable to join us here in Irvine were given the opportunity to view a simultaneous live stream from any location where they had an Internet connection. Over 200 unique users took advantage of this opportunity and we had 125 concurrent viewers throughout the whole event across an even distribution of devices and platforms. No problems were reported and we consider this first Match Day live stream managed by our Media Producer, Francisco Chanes, a huge success!
