Welcome Class of 2020!
Our newest class of medical students arrived on campus this Tuesday, August 2, 2016 to join us at our first-ever iPad event at the UCI BookStore. At the event, students were provided with a gift card from the iMedEd Initiative that enabled each one of them to purchase a base model iPad Mini 4. Many chose to upgrade their iPads with about half of the students selecting the newer iPad Pro models. It will be interesting to see how the iPad Pro + Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard may influence the way students study and take notes with their devices during lectures. Students will use their iPads to take exams and access learning materials during the preclinical years and reference mobile health resources/apps and do patient education during the clinical years.
The first day of medical school for the Class of 2020 is Monday, August 8, 2016.
