UCI School of Medicine has been honored as one of five medical schools to join the AMA Accelerating Change in Medical Education (ACE) Consortium this year. This consortium began as an initial cohort of 11 medical schools in 2013 with the launch of the “Accelerating Change in Medical Education” initiative to address the significant gaps in physician training. Through the ACE initiative, 37 medical schools have been awarded grants by the AMA totaling $14.1 million to create the medical schools of the future.

UCI has been awarded two ACE grants for work in developing an active-learning, case-based student mistreatment-prevention curriculum for faculty and residents called “#MDsToo”. Drs. Khanh-Van Le-Bucklin, Warren Wiechmann, Megan Osborn and Julie Youm traveled to the AMA ACE Consortium meeting held in Atlanta, GA from April 7-9, 2019 to share the #MDsToo curriculum with member institutions and to learn/collaborate with consortium colleagues who have common visions for innovating and transforming medical education.
