2017 Med iBookJam Competition

The iMedEd Initiative is excited to announce the third Med iBookJam competition to be held from March 1-10, 2017.

What is an iBook?

An iBook is a multi-touch digital book that can provide an interactive learning experience on Macs and iOS devices such as iPads and iPhones.

What is the Med iBookJam?

The Med iBookJam is a competition where teams of medical students and faculty, residents, fellows, and staff come together to create multi-touch iBooks related to healthcare. The event will focus on the production of the iBooks using Appleā€™s iBooks Author tool. Teams will use a standardized template with the intention of publishing the content to the Apple iBooks Store for feature in a UC Irvine School of Medicine collection.

We held our last Med iBookJam in Fall 2015. It was a great success with 15 iBooks produced over a 2-week period. For information on the winning teams and the iBooks created during this competition, visit 2015 Fall Med iBookJam.

Register for the 2017 Med iBookJam

On March 1, 2017, we will launch our third UC Irvine School of Medicine Med iBookJam! This year’s competition will be held over a 10-day period kicking-off with an iBooks Author workshop on March 1, 2017 and concluding with a showcase and awards ceremony on March 10, 2017.

We are looking for faculty, staff, residents, fellows and medical students who would like to participate in this year’s Med iBookJam event. Get a head start and begin preparing ideas and content for your iBook now!

Teams will be assigned at the start of the competition so that medical students can be partnered with faculty/staff and residents/fellows who share like interests.
